Eukaryotic translation - Translation is the process in cells by which messenger RNA is read by a ribosome, and by utilising tRNA a protein is built according to the genetic code of the mRNA. This varies between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells.
Protein subcellular localization prediction - Protein sorting is mediated by sequence signals: The Cells of eukaryotic organisms are elaborately subdivided into functionally distinct membrane bound compartments. The major constituents of eukaryotic cells are: extracellular space, cytoplasm, nucleus, mitochondria, Golgi apparatus, endoplasmic reticulum (ER), peroxisome, vacuoles, cytoskeleton, nucleoplasm, nucleolus, nuclear matrix and ribosomes.
Mature mRNA - Mature mRNA is a eukaryotic RNA transcript that has been spliced and processed and is ready for translation. Unlike the eukaryotic RNA immediately after transcription (pre-mRNA), it consists exclusively of exons, with all introns removed.
Sup35p - Sup35p is the Saccharomyces cerevisiae (a yeast) eukaryotic translation termination factor. More specifically, is the yeast eukaryotic release factor 3 (eRF3), which forms the translation termination complex with eRF1 (Sup45p in yeast).
Eukaryotic Gene Expression Problem Set - Multiple choice questions about post-transcriptional modification of RNA, promoters, and nuclear RNA processing. From: University of Arizona, USA 1997.
Dictyostelium Genome Sequencing Project - International effort to determine the complete genetic composition of this simple eukaryote. Incorporates mapping data, sequencing resources, and an overview of extrachromosomal elements.
The Journal of Eukaryotic Microbiology Home Page - The Journal of Eukaryotic Microbiology publishes original research on protists, including lower algae and fungi. Articles are published covering all aspects of these organisms, including their ...
